The Story

In the year 1123, Godefroy, Count of Appremont and Papincourt, spares the life of his darling sovereign, King Louis VI "Le Gros" ("The Fat") from the sword of a "horribilis" Englishman.

Jacquouille, then, is become a close acquaintence with by Ginette la Clocharde ("Ginette the Tramp" in French), an alluring vagrant they meet ahead of schedule in their undertaking.

Béatrice, thinking Godefroy to be her missing double cousin Hubert, gets Godefroy out of the mental healing facility and takes them over to her home, much to her spouse (who extraordinarily detests the certainty of the two being in their home) Jean-Pierre's consternation.
